The Moon’s Watch

Spread the love

Blog Post About This Poem

The moon through scattered clouds sailed,
A silver ship in night’s vast sea,
Its gentle light on branches veiled,
As lovers watched in tender glee.

Smiling at those lovers in embrace,
Whose tender words would float on air,
With starlit heavens as their place,
A joy beyond all compare.

Emotions of love through the air spread,
On every whisper, pure and bright,
With every touch that hearts had led,
A vision of gentle light.

Life’s lusters upon the ground swelled,
In moonlight’s glow, both soft and slow,
As echoes of their stories quelled,
A world of sacred love they know.

As dark clouds swallowed the tired moon,
The midnight turned to deep despair,
The lovers stood beneath that swoon,
With hearts beyond repair.

Emotions got wrapped in dirty tears,
Their dream now shattered, bitterly,
As remnants of their hopes disappeared,
And darkness set their spirits free.
